This role will focus on delivering robust, manufacturable, and high-performance components and subsystems, while mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional execution.</p>You Will:<ul><li>Lead and manage a team of hardware and mechanical design engineers focused on HVAC and thermal systems.</li><li>Oversee the design and release of components such as heat exchangers, fans, pumps, HVAC units, fluid transfer lines, and support structures.</li><li>Guide engineers through the full product lifecycle—from concept and CAD modeling to validation and production launch.</li><li>Ensure engineering deliverables meet vehicle-level requirements for performance, packaging, NVH, cost, and manufacturability.</li><li>Review and approve 3D models, 2D drawings, GD&amp;T applications, and DFM/DFA practices.</li><li>Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and high-quality component development.</li><li>Support the development and execution of design verification plans and test methods.</li><li>Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Service, and Vehicle Integration.</li><li>Provide technical mentorship and career development support to team members.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement in design processes, documentation, and team workflows.</li></ul>You Bring:<ul><li>7+ years of experience in HVAC or thermal hardware design within automotive or related industries.</li><li>Strong technical foundation in mechanical design.</li><li>Experience with thermal system architecture.</li><li>CAD modeling with Catia/3Dx.</li><li>Experience managing or mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.</li><li>Deep understanding of GD&amp;T, DFM/DFA, and high-volume manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, die casting).</li><li>Familiarity with thermal performance attributes and system-level integration.</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills.</li></ul>Great to Have:<ul><li>Experience in EV or high-performance vehicle programs.</li><li>Exposure to thermal controls systems and psychrometrics.</li><li>Experience with CAE tools (CFD, FEA) and system-level simulation.</li><li>Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance or prototyping.</li></ul>Education Requirements:<p>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</p><div><div><div><div><strong>Salary Range</strong>: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Additional Compensation and Benefits</strong>: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
