About the Role:
As an EHS Regional Supervisor for our operation in our Chicago or Baltimore location, you are directly responsible for establishing and maintaining the health and safety of the region’s workforce by monitoring and evaluating health and safety conditions, assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and governmental standards for the facility locations within the set region.  While reporting to the Director of Safety, you will partner with the site’s Operation team and People Business team to improve the overall EHS culture. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer effective occupational health, safety, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene programs
  • Educate, motivate, and train warehouse leadership & associates in good housekeeping practices, safe work procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), safe mobile equipment driving (includes forklifts (sit and stand), pallet jacks (push and ride), and cherry pickers), etc
  • Manage the region’s personal protective equipment and safety equipment programs according to company standards
  • Administer all mobile equipment training
  • Assist the Director of Safety with the workers' compensation program, including effective medical case management, investigation, reporting, record maintenance, and follow-up
  • Develop and implement effective site programs for the identification, prevention, and control of occupational injuries and illnesses. 
  • Coordinate the market’s health and safety education and training programs and serve on each site’s safety committee as Co-Chairperson
  • Maintain current awareness of applicable federal, state, and local health, industrial hygiene, and safety regulations
  • Maintain an accurate OSHA 300 log
  • Accompany visiting inspectors and report findings
  • Assist the operations team in developing risk assessments and safe operating procedures for all tasks and in investigating incidents
  • Develop and implement audit programs to review and assure compliance with applicable health and safety standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert with all safety reporting tools, systems, and resources
  • Track site safety KPIs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to travel to site locations in the set region as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience in leadership 
  • 1-3 years experience in an EHS or similar role 
  • Experience in manufacturing or food industry 
  • Lean process management and continuous improvement 
  • Experience managing a nimble, fast-growing team 
  • Computer skills including Google Suite knowledge
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to present weekly to the local management team and excited about Imperfect Foods 
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Excels at independent, unsupervised work 
  • Ability to problem solve 
  • Ability to build working relationships 

Details of the Position:

  • This position reports to the Director of Safety
  • This position will partner directly with the Director of Operations for each site in the set region based out of our Chicago OR Baltimore location
  • This is a full-time exempt position that supports overall EHS for Chicago and Baltimore locations

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel 
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds 
  • Sedentary work; involves sitting some of the time 
  • Occasional movement around the office and warehouse may be necessary 
  • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens 
  • Regular use of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets 
  • Able to work in cold temperatures in a refrigerated environment

At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.
We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
