The JobAs Director of Data Management, you will grow and lead the team that is responsible for managing all aspects of Omnidian’s data at all levels of the company. At a high level, this includes driving our philosophy around data, data governance, and developing our data as a strategic asset for the company. At a middle level, this includes policies on how we define, access, use, share, secure, and monetize data. And at a low level, this includes building and maintaining the infrastructure for storing, processing, accessing, analyzing, and visualizing data.
What You’ll DoAt Omnidian we believe in trust and autonomy. How you create an impact is ultimately up to you. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing:  Initial Projects: - Omnidian is in the process of implementing Salesforce. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the data collected during the sales process is aligned with operational needs, and can be handed off and effectively used by Operations for its intended purpose.- You will define and document our entitlements so that it matches contract language and is useful for human and automated operations so that the definitions are easily accessible and can be used as a reference. Migrate existing entitlements as appropriate. - As we generate and deliver monthly reports to our commercial clients, you will determine how to document and visualize data so that it is both clear and meaningful to the client. This data includes values such as the ratio of weather-adjusted expected energy vs actual energy, budget vs actual, budget vs weather, and for customers with a guarantee you will assist in defining how we communicate progress towards that guarantee.

Longer Term you hire and onboard a high performing team starting with a Data Engineer and a Database Analyst, to help you execute on the following projects: ·         Ensure that data flowing between departments has a shared definition and is suitable to the intended purpose·         Upgrade our time series and environmental databases to support one million assets ·         Build a data warehouse and ETL pipeline to update it ·         Develop our data quality standards to define: What do we mean by “quality” data? How do we create and maintain quality data? What are our overarching goals and philosophies around data?·         Write the rules on how we handle data, in order to protect privacy and security·         Make sure that all regular client communications are clearly communicating the data·         Develop a shared, general strategy for how we monetize our data and insights·         Develop a perspective on which (obtainable) insights from data are most valuable to the company, and why
