About the Role:

The Rectification team at Planet is responsible for properly geolocating imagery downlinked from our constellation of Earth observation satellites. Your role will be to help refine our current techniques for doing this as well as develop new techniques as we work on our next generation of satellites. You will also be collaborating with other teams to ensure the geometric quality of future telescopes.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Ensuring the imagery is properly geolocated on the Earth’s surface
  • Contributing to the design and modeling of new imaging systems and operating modes
  • Developing and validating image quality metrics
  • Troubleshooting image quality issues and developing long-term mitigations and improvements
  • Collaborating with satellite operations, payload, hardware (optics/EE), and embedded software teams

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years Photogrammetry and/or quantitative remote sensing work experience
  • Familiarity with design and construction of imaging/capture/camera hardware
  • Experience leveraging scientific MATLAB, Python and/or C/C++ in a Unix/Linux/AWS environment to develop and automate novel image processing algorithms
  • Familiarity with source control and project management tools

Compensation (For Colorado Applicants Only):

The base pay range targeted for this position in Colorado is: $138,600 - $211,500. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.

The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, including experience, location, and other business considerations.

Planet is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not able to work from a state where Planet is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
