✔️Hybrid telework option available anywhere within the state of California (California based position).

 

What you need to qualify:

  1. Experience: Four years of successful experience in writing, reporting or editing for a newspaper, new service, radio or television station, or magazine, or in a position having major duties in the area of public relations or public information and involving communicating to the public. The experience must have developed the ability to be responsible for the conduct of a comprehensive public information program for a State agency. Writing experience, while an integral part of the above requirements, will not be considered qualifying in itself.

  1. Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)

Desirable Qualifications:

1) Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills.

2) Background in journalism/media relations/public relations/marketing.

3) Experience with social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

4) Experience in responding to media inquiries by serving as a media spokesperson or preparing spokespeople for interviews.

5) Experience in developing and executing strategic communications materials such as news releases, social media, blog posts, and talking points.

6) Experience as lead coordinator/project manager in developing and executing public communications outreach campaigns using social media.

7) Experience interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, nonprofit organizations, and private industry.

8) Interest in energy and energy climate change issues.
