Job Description

As our first Product Analyst, you will have outsized impact by influencing the way our customers understand and appreciate the value we generate for them and by influencing our most critical business decisions across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Deployment. You'll leverage a general analytics toolkit and an intuition for commercial value to derive critical insights around our business and share them in an influential way with customers. As mentioned above, our product drives unparalleled value in the grocery industry—as a result there is significant opportunity to craft powerful narratives that compel multi-billion dollar enterprises to take action. We are a passionate team united by our mission to make an impact in the food system--we hope you'll join us!

What will you be doing?

  • Assessing our solution's performance in driving customers' critical business metrics—profit, waste, sales, and more
  • Deriving insights from billions of dollars of data points to drive new customers to buy our solutions
  • Identifying opportunities for the system to drive better performance in new deployments and pilots
  • Partnering internally across commercial stakeholders to drive critical business decisions across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Deployment—and at the board level

What skills / experience do you need?

  • 3-6+ years in business analytics (analytics applied to Enterprise Vertical SaaS businesses with large deal sizes is a plus)
  • Expertise with SQL, Python and other tools to gather data from internal sources
  • Expertise with analytics tools to process raw information and derive quantitative insights
  • An appreciation for the common objectives and needs of commercial functions paired with the ability to drive these objectives through analytics and insights
  • A strategic mindset—ability to gather unstructured data, synthesize frameworks, and test & learn through hypothesis design, lean experimentation, and iteration
  • Ability to build something from nothing—a willingness to jump in with little guidance
  • Strong organization and documentation habits/skills
  • Fluency in coordination across all functional stakeholders and ability to effect change within a rapidly growing enterprise
  • Excellent written and verbal reasoning and communication skills
  • Strong alignment with our mission and core values: Kindness, Candor, Proactivity and Humility

Founded in 2017, Afresh is the first A.I.-powered fresh food optimization platform for grocery chains. We have partnered with several large grocers representing hundreds of stores and >$10B in revenue. Our cutting-edge AI research has been published in top journals (e.g., ICML). We’re backed by some of the top investors in grocery and tech including Innovation Endeavors (former Google CEO Eric Schmidt’s firm), Baseline Ventures (first money in Stitch Fix, SoFi, Heroku, Instagram), Food Retail Ventures, Maersk Growth, and Impact Engine.

We are building a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive team that embodies our company’s values: proactivity, kindness, candor, and humility. We aspire to continually grow as individuals and as an organization to live these values and realize our mission. We earnestly believe that Afresh represents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to have massive social impact at scale by employing novel technology—and to have a ton of fun along the way.
