Overview

Jua's mission is to create artificial general intelligence (AGI). Our product uses a foundational Earth systems model to predict atmospheric events. It’s more accurate, faster, and updates more frequently than current weather models, making it valuable for traders in weather-dependent power markets. Responsibilities and tasks

  • Developing and improving scalable ETL pipelines in the cloud

  • Loading, processing, normalizing and providing various data types, from point data such as sensor measurements to raster data such as satellite or radar

  • Developing and improving an extensible data warehouse as the heart for weather modeling

  • Ensuring Performance, robustness and high availability

  • Development of interfaces for the exchange of data from a wide variety of applications

  • Testing, validating, visualizing and documenting new approaches and their performance

Need-to-have

  • M.Sc. in computer science, GIS or equivalent experience in data engineering

  • at least 2 years of professional experience in the field of data engineering

  • You are familiar with ETL pipelines, know the common database systems and have experience with common ETL libraries

  • Some experience with distributed systems and various cloud providers

  • You are proficient in Python, as well as at least one other modern/mainstream programming language (C/C++, Java, Julia or Go)

  • You can develop solutions independently based on targets and have experience with agile work 

  • Experience with GIS-based data such as satellite, radar or radiosondes

  • Experience in handling large amounts of data (>1TB)

  • You have experience and interest in the development of the idea, from a prototype to the finished product
