We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier quality engineering within high-volume manufacturing and assembly plant environments. This role involves working closely with suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards for BIW components such as stampings, castings, and extrusions. 

You Will: 

  • Lead supplier quality activities for Body-in-White (BIW) components, including stampings, castings, and extrusions. 
  • Develop and industrialize supplier quality processes, ensuring compliance with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and its 18 elements. 
  • Create and manage PPAP records, understand changes, and ensure proper documentation without requalification. 
  • Review engineering drawings to identify critical characteristics (CC) and develop inspection plans, including checking frequency and sample size. 
  • Handle quality issues across various commodities, providing immediate response and containment actions. 
  • Coordinate with suppliers, including international ones, to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for defects. 
  • Perform systemic audits and support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, assembly, and warehouse operations, to ensure comprehensive quality management. 
  • Maintain confidence and professionalism in handling supplier quality issues and customer interactions. 

You Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing and assembly plant environments, supporting supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering roles. 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, and Tableau is a plus. 
  • Certification preferred (e.g., American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt). 
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings and in-depth knowledge of quality standards and specifications. 
  • Excellent analytical abilities, technical writing ability, and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (IATF 16949, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, GD&T, etc.). 
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate a willingness to learn, actively contribute to solutions, and adapt effectively to a dynamic working environment.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on and data-driven, with a creative mindset in problem-solving.
