Finance Intern

Your mission

Circle Economy is looking for an enthusiastic intern who wishes to apply their affinity with sustainability and finance as part of the Circularity Gap Solutions team. The chosen candidate will be an independent individual with sufficient expertise in the workings of the financial sector. Strong research capabilities will be essential to the role and an effective writing style is a bonus. 

The successful candidate will primarily be tasked with supporting both the Circularity Gap Solutions (CGS) team and the Circle Economy Finance Programme in an ongoing research endeavour into the state of circular economy finance today. The research to be undertaken is both quantitative and qualitative and will explore topics such as total capital allocations, barriers to circular economy investment, and the role of risk in circular economy finance. 

The position will be situated between these two teams within Circle Economy, and so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support further projects in both teams. In the CGS team this will typically involve further research tasks on CGR reports at both the national and global level. For the Finance Programme, this will be in support of Project Development Assistance engines, such as DEFINITE-CCRI and CircularInvest.

Job requirements:

You are a talented (post-)MSc student with:

• demonstrable experience in finance, either professionally or in academia;

• excellent research skills;

• strong written English;

• a passion for circular economy / sustainability;

• an understanding of the key tenets of climate finance

• the ability to work in a team as well as independently;

• a proactive, autonomous and fun character;

• thriving in a dynamic working environment.

Why us?

Reimbursement is offered of up to €749 (40 hours) per month gross, excluding travel stipend if you live outside of Amsterdam  (up to a maximum of €100 per month). The position is available for 3-5 days per week.

Unfortunately we can not support visa applications for interns. Only those individuals who have an automatic right to work and live in the Netherlands should apply.
