About the Role
As the Manufacturing and Maintenance Technician you will be working onsite in our assembly and testing facility in San Leandro with our team of technicians. You’ll be responsible for building out sensor-equipped cars, assembling sensor hardware devices and maintaining them. The role might require occasional travel to troubleshoot cars in the field. The ideal candidate is passionate about working on cars, is mission-driven, loves working with their hands, is organized, hardworking, knows cars, and is detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly and Installation:
Assemble and install sensor systems, wiring harnesses, and other components on vehicles according to engineering specifications and blueprints.
Calibrate and configure sensors and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sensor systems and on-vehicle components.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Fabrication
Modify and adapt vehicle structures to fit new sensor equipment and hardware.
Use hand tools, power tools, and machines to create and install custom components.
Help develop new sensor designs by fabricating and assembling prototypes.
Testing and Quality Control:
Conduct functional tests and quality inspections to verify the proper operation of sensor systems and vehicles.
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve design or performance issues.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards while performing assembly, installation, and maintenance tasks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the development and improvement of assembly and maintenance procedures.
Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance the performance and reliability of sensor systems.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in vehicle upfitting, maintenance, car stereo installation, or a similar role, preferably with sensor or autonomous systems.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software applications.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow technical instructions and schematics.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Pay Transparency
San Francisco Bay Area Only. The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $25 - $35 per hour + equity + benefits.
