About the role

Working with a Product lead, you will own the daily operations for one or more of our Commodities products by leading a cross-functional agile team. Your focus will be on delivering value for our internal and external customers by understanding how our systems work and our customer needs. You will also contribute to building out our wider product roadmap and vision.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Consistently communicating with customers (internal and external) to understand what they do and the challenges they face.

  • Collaborating across all parts Wood Mackenzie to gain fresh perspectives and ideas while also being an evangelist for our products

  • Building, maintaining, and prioritizing a product backlog by writing user stories that include with clear acceptance and testing criteria. 

  • Developing deep subject matter expertise to allow you to think like a customer to help problem solve and generate new ideas

  • Using your knowledge and past experiences to inform your decision making and customer engagement

  • Working alongside senior Product colleagues to define, measure, and monitor product success after releases 

About you and how you can excel in this role

You will be passionate about learning and bringing great products to market. You are energized by working closely with a team of equally dedicated individuals to solve problems every day. Your experience includes:

  • A track record of delivering in a previous Product Owner role with a minimum of 3 years experience, having written user stories and run Agile scrum teams in the past.

  • An ability to balance competing priorities by understanding trade-offs while clearly communicating these to stakeholders.

  • Collecting and analyzing data to make decisions and set priorities.

  • Leading cross-functional teams and adapting to unforeseen challenges to meet commitments. 

  • Being a problem solver and working independently to explore solutions and options.

  • Strong communications skills and ability to collaborate across time zones.

  • Familiarity with the programming basics and/or Commodities markets is a plus
