Job Description

About Nautilus.

Nautilus is building artificial intelligence to advance the efficiency of ocean commerce. We deliver technology to help shipping companies minimize fuel consumption, maximize operational efficiency, and optimize fleet performance. By arming ship owners and operators with real-time predictive decision support, Nautilus is reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making global trade sustainable.

Ocean shipping consumes over $100 billion dollars of fuel every year, and up to 30% of it can be saved. For owner-operators, reliance on manually collected and analyzed data makes it difficult to optimize fleet performance in real-time. By providing a unified data platform that leverages machine learning, Nautilus helps its clients make better decisions to maximize the return on each ship and every voyage. For our clients, this means they drive closer collaboration, greater transparency, and stronger accountability across their global teams every day.

About You.

Client Success owns the client relationship post-sales. The team's goal is to maximize client value with every interaction including pre-sales support, ship activation, onboarding/training users, uncovering valuable data insights, monitoring client health, and identifying upsell opportunities. The team consists of client success managers who work with a set of named accounts, deployment specialists who handle ship integrations, and industry specialists who use the tool to derive insights to help clients optimize their fleets. Together these teams are responsible for empowering our clients to become expert users and achieve amazing results.

As the demand for onboarding vessels onto our platform grows, we're looking for a self-motivated and intellectually curious Integrations Specialist. The primary function of the role will be collecting data from our customer’s ships via software integrations, as well as maintaining existing systems.  You will determine how to obtain vessel data from our client’s ships and also how to reliably persist that data in our platform, in order to allow its analysis using machine learning. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with clients to determine how best to obtain various sources of data (through APIs, email or other)
  • Onboarding new vessels and their various data sources into the Nautilus Platform
  • Project managing complex deployments involving many different ships and possibly owners
  • Debugging data transmission issues and investigating strange or abnormal data patterns
  • Assisting the engineering team by validating and understanding vessel data
  • Supporting existing hardware and software integrations and debugging problems that might occur
  • Improving team processes that can lead to greater efficiency or a better customer experience
  • Assisting the sales team as a technical resource

This position will have a high level of autonomy and independence, so great client-facing communication and organizational skills will be critical for a successful addition to the team. This position is based in Europe (Paris or London) to assist mainly our European-based clients; however support to clients in other parts of the world will be required from time to time. Collaboration with the rest of the Deployment team is critical for the success of this role, and these teams are located in Singapore and New York; as such, flexibility with working hours will be required in order to have meetings with these different time zones.

Proficiencies.

  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience working with customers in a customer-facing role
  • Knowledge of technical ship management or on-ship experience as an engineer is a plus.
  • Interest in scripting languages or python programming
  • Familiarity with APIs, JSON, XML data formats, relational databases or SQL is a plus
  • Multitask and stay organized on various projects with the ability to deliver projects on time and prioritize shifting deadlines
  • Strong, professional communications skills, both verbal and written in business English
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally, across time zones and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to debug and resolve data issues where the source of such issues may initially be unknown
  • A self-starter with a strong interest in learning about the industry

Our Core Values.

Location: All applicants must be eligible to work in either Paris or London
