Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Solutions

The Role One Concern is growing rapidly and we are looking for a passionate, mission-driven Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our team. As part of our Solutions Team, you’ll work on rapid prototyping that breaks down complex business challenges from customers and solve them using cross-disciplinary engineering skills. You will be challenged daily to identify emerging value propositions by looking at market trends and by translating customer needs using One Concern’s core technology. This role is highly cross-disciplinary and requires an ability to achieve buy-in from internal stakeholders on customer needs, work with internal or external experts, synthesize and present results to internal teams and clients, as well as communicate methods, validations, and limitations to these stakeholders. You will build rapport internally with various executives and stakeholders across our HQ and offices in the US, Japan and with external clients.

What You’ll Do

• Independently visualize, mock-up, and implement prototypes that actualize analyses from the ground-up using internal and external data sources and work with Solutions Data Scientists and Strategists to create fully functional client-ready applications
• Support pre-sales and post-sales efforts to deliver engagements solving client business problems related to resilience, mitigation ROI and prioritization using One Concern technology
• Identify new opportunities and markets alongside the Solutions Strategist and Business Team through prototypes.
• Keep up-to-date on the latest data engineering architectures, modern programming languages and tools by interacting routinely with Engineering and Data Science teams and engaging within the broader engineering community
• Ensure your prototype works as expected, is easy to operate, and meets expectations from the customer and internal stakeholders by implementing proper testing and automation
• Travel to clients and support Solutions Data Scientists, Strategists and business development reps to maintain and field any questions about the full functional prototypes
• You will be the customer-facing representative of our technology teams

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3 to 5 years of full-stack software engineering experience
• Experience in software development using general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Go)
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• Experience building full stack products and prototyping solutions to ambiguous problems using a modern tech stack
• Entrepreneurial,creative, and innovative mindset for identifying new opportunities to solve complex problems
• Experience rapidly prototyping interdisciplinary high-fidelity proof-of-concepts
• Loves side projects and has a robust portfolio of full stack work
• Ability to thrive in a fluid startup environment

Nice to Haves

• Previous entrepreneurial experience starting your own venture
• 1-2 years of client-facing consultant experience
• Experience competing and/or winning at startup weekends or hackathons
• Prior experience working with agile teams
• Fluency in PostGIS
• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational database
• Experience working on systems that involve geospatial mapping
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
