About the Role

Spin is seeking a business-oriented Corporate Counsel, with a focus on privacy and product counseling to join a fast-growing, high-paced technology company. The ideal candidate will work closely with Spin’s legal, and cross-functional teams, advising on matters related to privacy regulation and compliance and product growth and expansion, on a global level. This role will report to the General Counsel.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and counsel to Product team on relevant laws, including issues related to marketing, data security and privacy
• Coordinate and collaborate across compliance, legal, engineering and business teams relating to product development
• Design and develop legal processes to help support the launch of new products and services
• Anticipate and identify risks, and propose creative solutions to address those risks
• Build relationships with business stakeholders and work to understand challenges faced by business teams

Qualifications

• JD with 4+ years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department, preferably with experience with a fast-growing technology startup
• Strong familiarity with relevant state, federal, and global laws and regulations, especially around data security and privacy
• Admission to California Bar preferred; otherwise, in-house registration in California required
• Team-oriented attitude and entrepreneurial approach to problem solving
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-department, cross-functional role with members at all levels of the organization
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High EQ
