Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and permitting utility projects.
Create, review, and certify erosion control and grading designs for utility projects.
Develop permit documentation, coordinate with various agencies, and produce construction drawings and specifications, including hydrologic analyses with runoff flow rates.
Use knowledge of stormwater runoff modelling methods and stormwater best management practices to design solutions for substations, transmission lines, and solar farms.
Plan and design hydrologic systems for the project.
Analyze maps, drawings, aerial photography, and topographic data.
Estimate cost of materials, equipment, and labor.
Work with the Project Manager to develop project schedules and deliverable timelines.
Ensure that work meets all environmental regulations, as well as safety and quality standards, ordinances, and codes.
Recognize and resolve issues and provide timely and accurate information regarding project schedules, scopes, and budgets.
Requirements
Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Five (5) years or more of experience in any professional position requiring extensive civil/environmental engineering related technical experience.
Mustbe a Licensed Professional Engineer. Holding a License in the State of North Carolina is preferred. Holding a license in one or more of the following states is a plus: South Carolina, Virginia, and/or Maryland.
Must have five (5) years of experience with Office 365 and AutoCAD Civil 3D; three (3) years of experience and HydroCAD/SEDCAD software or equivalent; two (2) years of experience interacting with technical and non-technical persons in a client-consultant setting; and six (6) months of experience certifying civil designs as a Professional Engineer.
Experience interacting with clients preferred.
Experience managing project budgets and schedules preferred.
Experience with permitting and interfacing with permitting agencies preferred.
Must be able to travel up to 10-15% of the time within NC and/or Southeast US region (VA, SC, NC).
