As a Permitting Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the permitting process for projects. This involves ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to permitting, zoning, and building codes. You will work with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, architects, government officials, and contractors to ensure timely and efficient permit acquisition. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement permit acquisition plans for projects 
  • Review and interpret local, state, and federal regulations related to permitting, zoning, and building codes 
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure all necessary documents and plans are submitted for permit applications 
  • Communicate with government officials and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals 
  • Coordinate the timeline for permit acquisition and ensure compliance with project schedules 
  • Monitor and track permit applications and approvals 
  • Maintain a database of permitting requirements and best practices for future projects 
  • Provide regular progress reports to project teams and senior management 
  • Identify potential permitting issues and work with internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Legal, Land, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in permitting or related field 
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to permitting, zoning, and building codes 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage the permitting process for multiple projects 
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues and develop solutions 
  • Experience with permitting software and databases is preferred 

Working Conditions:

The Permitting Lead will work primarily in an office environment with some travel to project sites. This role requires frequent communication with project teams, government officials, and regulatory agencies. The role may require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
