Bird’s legal team is looking for a Sr. Claims Associate/Manager to organize and support Bird’s handling of alleged injury and property damage related insurance claims, auto claims, prospective lawsuits, and injury-related litigation.  The Claims Manager will oversee and manage the life of the claim process, manage Claims Associates, communicate externally on critical incidents, liaise with the Trust & Safety team to gather incident details and communicate .  

Responsibilities

  • Manage individual claims from inception to resolution through investigation of internal and external facts, review of medical records and vehicle date, submission to carrier, drafting external correspondence regarding Bird's insurance and legal position, negotiating resolution where appropriate.
  • Serve as the point of external contact for all critical safety incidents including the most serious of injuries.
  • Liaison with legal team and insurance carriers regarding claim data, trends and claims handling.
  • Evaluate elevated T&S tickets to determine best course of action w/r/t claim submission or other response.

Requirements

  • Experience with products liability and personal injury litigation 
  • Good understanding of injury claim insurance process including submission, liability determination, resolution, etc.
  • Superior Communication skills 
  • Collegial personality to interact with multiple departments and outside personnel 
  • Capacity to represent Bird in respectful and articulate manner
  • Highly detail oriented, organized and organizationally agile individual 
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction on multiple tasks
  • Ability to work overtime if necessary
