Job Description

COMPANY DESCRIPTION
At Beyond Meat, we started with simple questions. Why do you need an animal to create meat? Why can’t you build meat directly from plants? Thus, we make plant-based meats that allow families to eat more, not less, of the traditional dishes they love while feeling great about the health, sustainability, and animal welfare benefits of plant protein. Our goal is to bring exciting change to the plate—and Beyond.
Beyond Meat, Inc. (NASDAQ: BYND) is one of the fastest growing food companies in the United States, offering a portfolio of revolutionary plant-based meats. The company builds meat directly from plants, an innovation that enables consumers to experience the taste, texture and other sensory attributes of popular animal-based meat products while enjoying the nutritional and environmental benefits of eating plant-based meat products.
Its brand commitment, "Eat What You Love," represents a strong belief that by eating plant-based meats, consumers can enjoy more, not less, of their favorite meals, and by doing so, help to address concerns related to human health, climate change, resource conservation and animal welfare. The success of Beyond Meat’s breakthrough innovation model and products has allowed it to appeal to a broad range of consumers, including those who typically eat animal-based meats, positioning the company to compete directly in the $1.4 trillion global meat industry.
Research, development, and innovation are core elements of its business strategy, and Beyond Meat believes they represent a critical competitive advantage. Through its Beyond Meat, Inc. Rapid and Relentless Innovation Program, its team of scientists and engineers focus on making continuous improvements to the existing product formulations and developing new products across the plant-based beef, pork and poultry platforms. Beyond Meat’s state-of-the-art Manhattan Beach Project Innovation Center in El Segundo, California brings together leading scientists from chemistry, biology, material science, food science, and biophysics disciplines who work together with process engineers and culinary specialists to pursue its vision of perfectly building plant-based meat.
THE MISSION
Beyond Meat is a mission-driven business with long-standing core values. It strives to operate in an honest, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner and is committed to help solve the major health and global environmental issues, which it believes are caused by an animal-based protein diet and existing meat industry practices. Beyond Meat believes its authentic and long-standing commitment to these causes better positions them to build loyalty and trust with current consumers and helps attract new ones. Its corporate culture embodies these values and, as a result, they enjoy a highly motivated and skilled work force committed to its mission and its enterprise.
