Position Description: Energy Efficiency Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our dynamic team to support EM&V efforts. As an Energy Efficiency Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing energy efficiency projects, programs and measures aimed at reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable practices for utilities. You will work closely with external and internal teams to support program needs around measure development and engineering review by providing technical assistance. Your knowledge in energy conservation, renewable technologies, and building systems will contribute to our mission of creating and delivering exceptional efficiency programs and services that sustain our planet and delight our clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance with project review for internal program teams
  • Technical review of incentive applications: calculating energy savings and validating
  • Manage program measure databases
  • Measure development and review: cost effectiveness, tracking and adjustments
  • Technology research to support program offerings and emerging technologies
  • Work with internal QA/QC teams and external evaluators
  • Create and manage energy tools for program use
  • Review 3rd party evaluator and utility documents

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial and residential efficiency equipment (lighting, HVAC, heat pumps, air compressors, motors etc.);
  • Demand side management (DSM) program experience;
  • The capability to work well in a virtual team setting and provide exceptional customer service;
  • Problem solving skills and ability to discover innovative solutions;
  • Self-starter who is highly detail oriented, organized and goal focused;
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Microsoft Office applications proficiency: with a focus on excel;


Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • CEM certification, LEED, BPI or other equivalent certifications
  • High School diploma with higher education or vocational training specializing in mechanical, energy efficiency, HVAC or the utility marketing field;
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in mechanical or energy efficiency industry, HVAC/Mechanical/Refrigeration applications and/or distribution;
  • Knowledge and experience in additional energy technologies in the C&I and residential;
  • Previous home office experience a plus;
  • Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation along with verifiable insurance is required.


Physical Efforts: May be physically demanding, depending on tasks, such as:

  • Sitting for extended periods at a computer;
  • Spatial ability/depth perception/color discrimination;
  • Speak/hear. Provide clear, accurate communication, hear telephone & warning devices;
