In this role, you will be tasked with <span><span>PCBA</span></span> design, prototyping, bring up, and troubleshooting. You will also be involved in power converters tests and test setups automation in collaboration with other team members.</p><p>You will work alongside outstanding Power Electronics Engineers to support the development and research in different fields, such as semiconductors and magnetics test and validation, <span><span>EMC</span></span>, Controls, and firmware for power converters.</p><p>You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and controls engineering teams to implement technologies that electrify the home and delight our customers.</p><p> </p><h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3><p>Responsibilities include two or more of the following:</p><ul><li><p>Support evaluation, testing, and the design of power converters.</p></li><li><p>Create schematics and layouts using Altium Designer.</p></li><li><p><span>PCBA</span> prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.</p></li><li><p>Validate control algorithms on power converters hardware.</p></li><li><p>Build prototype components and assemblies, optimizing components to meet system requirements.</p></li><li><p>Support lab test setups and automation, data collection, and analysis.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with internal and external teams.</p></li></ul><h3><strong>About You </strong></h3><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><p>We are seeking an intern who meets the following criteria:</p><ul><li><p>Passion for clean energy technology and decarbonization </p></li><li><p>Pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or equivalent fields.</p></li><li><p>Experience with first principles analysis of physical systems</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills</p></li><li><p>Experience in Lab Testing environments with actual hardware prototypes or components.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Altium Designer</p></li><li><p>Experience with soldering re-work</p></li><li><p>Experience with power electronics <span>PCBA</span> board bring up</p></li></ul><p><strong>Bonus Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience with Simulink, <span><span>PLECS</span></span>, or SPICE (e.g., LTspice) applied to electronics, semiconductor, and magnetic design.</p></li><li><p>Experience using Python, C++, or C</p></li><li><p>Experience with Typhoon <span><span>HIL</span></span>.</p></li><li><p>Experience working with Grid and High Voltage Simulators.</p></li><li><p>Ph.D. students or Candidates.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>The co-op position has a duration of 6 months and will run from January- June 2025.
