What will you be doing?

The production of corrugated cardboard and its processing into packaging is a very specific process. The start of this process begins with our corrugated cardboard machine, where corrugated cardboard sheets are made. These sheets are then processed into boxes in the Processing department by cutting, folding, printing, and die-cutting them. And all of this is done according to specific designs, quality requirements, and sizes that are unique to each customer.

As a Production Manager, you are responsible for the machines and equipment that produce corrugated cardboard packaging. You report to the Plant Manager in this role. Safety is the number one priority, and you also ensure that the production process runs efficiently and maintain the quality. You develop production objectives, drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and come up with improvements to achieve better production results.

Your tasks and responsibilities further include:

  • Ensuring optimal coordination of staffing and installation capacity;
  • Periodic discussions about progress, bottlenecks, and actions (with Technical Department and Team Leaders, among others);
  • Monitoring and adjusting departmental results;
  • Informing internal stakeholders about major malfunctions and deviations (including supervisors and Sales in case of impact on deliveries);
  • Monitoring budgets;
  • Periodic evaluations of team performance;
  • Discussing complaints, issues, and necessary maintenance of installations;
  • Maintaining contacts with practical trainers;
  • Ultimate responsibility for the development of your team;
  • Reporting production results and KPIs;
  • Initiating and implementing improvements regarding safety, quality, productivity, and costs.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a completed and relevant education;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar managerial position, preferably in a production environment;
  • You can act efficiently and easily adapt to changing circumstances;
  • You are result-oriented and can formulate short-term as well as medium/long-term goals with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness;
  • You have proficiency in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
