Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting or other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC strives for one, harmonised, global Wärtsilä way of working with high-quality, timely, effective and efficient processes. WSSC is sharing best practices and knowledge with focus on continuous development and operational excellence.

 

Wärtsilä Shared Service Center is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Payments team for a temporary position of 18 months. The location for the position is Vaasa, Finland.
 
Responsibilities:

 

  • Daily tasks include executing supplier and travel reimbursement payments and accounting of bank statement transactions
  • Period-end closing activities related to payments and accounts receivable
  • Improving and streamlining the payment process by effective and active teamwork
  • Short-term liquidity management and cash management activities
  • Participating in development projects related to improving and optimising accounts receivable and payment handling activities
  • Supporting and helping other Wärtsiliäns with their issues related to the Payments team's area of responsibility

 

Requirements:

 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Business and Economics or similar
  • Advanced English and Chinese, other languages are seen as an advantage
  • Experience in working in a shared service center 
  • Relevant experience in accounting is seen as an advantage
  • Understanding and expertise in SAP FI module, SwiftNet, In-House Cash payment process and Cash Management
  • Open-minded and agile personality
  • Flexibility and good team working skills
  • Positive attitude and proactive thinking
