Senior Tax Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Finance & Control department. 

What will you be doing
As a Sr. Tax Accountant, you will be accountable for tax calculations and its auxiliary obligations for corporate tax compliance in Panama. Including research / planning and support to the Business support. 

The ideal candidate will have an education in a relatable field and proficient knowledge of SAP, PowerBI and tax compliance.  

As a Sr. Tax Accountant, you will focus on these responsibilities:

•    VAT compliance 
•    Transfer Pricing
•    Income Tax Calculations 

•    Panama Tax Returns 
•    Reporting of Monthly Indirect taxes for Panama
•    Withholding tax compliance for LATAM Countries
•    Deferred tax calculations & reporting
•    Tax research for compliance in new jurisdictions and laws (Keep up to date on changes in the tax laws that could affect the company)
•    Tax Litigation follow up and coordinate activities with the external lawyer
•    Evaluate Double Taxation Agreements for Panama
•    Maintain SAP configuration for tax rates and withholding taxes
•    Participates in month end closing (to reconcile Sap with DGI’s statement of account and fill in tax notes in HFM
•    Support on external/internal audit procedures/ National Audit Office of Panama
•    Participate on AP process as approver
•    Research compliance status in operating jurisdictions
•    Reconcile the Balance Sheet Taxation GL accounts
•    Find synergies among the countries of cluster and apply the best practices to all countries. 
•    Identify any automation / robotics opportunities that can be implemented to support the tax work

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
•    Bachelor’s or higher in Accounting or similar field 

•    Experience with SAP and PowerBI
•    Must have previous experience and expertise as a Tax Accountant
