Scope of responsibilities include:

  • Follow Site Work Instruction Manual and Job Safety Analysis procedures
  • Maintain an electronic logbook of unit operational activities
  • Solving plant process upsets using various indicators and DCS trends in conjunction with console operator
  • Calibrate/Operate multiple analyzers
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintain online training program requirements
  • Issue safety work permits and perform lock out / tag out of various process equipment
  • Fill Bulk Carbon Monoxide tube trailers
  • Inspect all work areas on a continuous basis for any mechanical problems, safety hazards and unusual operation conditions. Keep work and supply areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition
  • Ensure that all plant safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed
  • Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings
  • Perform troubleshooting on equipment
  • Assist in reviewing and updating operating procedures as required
  • Operate unit equipment via DCS

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:

  • This is a safety sensitive position.
  • A strong commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellence
  • A self-starter with a Strong Work ethic.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous operations work history and/or military experience
  • Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus
  • Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus
  • Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems
  • Ability to work shifts rotating from days to nights
  • Willing to work holidays and weekends
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Meet call-in/on call requirements as needed
  • Elevated work required
  • Work in all weather conditions

Education and Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with chemical processing or petrochemical preferred
  • Process Technology certificate or degree is advantageous and may be considered in lieu of experience
