Job Description Summary

The Technical Leader, Repair Deployment will be the global focal point for repair tooling and process deployment. This person will provide direction, guidance & leadership to Tool & Repair Development/Deployment Team, lead tooling/repair deployment operational tasks/improvements, emergent issues, creation of standard work, repair strategies and will support the development & lead the deployment of new tooling & repairs for our global Onshore Wind New unit & Services businesses

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Global focal point for Repair process and tooling deployment
  • Establish a Global Repair network and become the point person for tooling and repair emergent issue needs and drive quick resolution
  • Lead repair tooling solutions to field readiness
  • Lead Repair optimization efforts utilizing Lean practices
  • Develop & drive Lean work standardization and packages for new and existing repair & deployment processes
  • Provide direction, guidance & leadership to the Repair Deployment Team. (To include leading regular team meetings focused on assignments updates, barrier identification & needs/best practice sharing)
  • Assist with defining assignment for team members
  • Define resource needs/demands & pull from global & field teams as needed
  • Communicate and provide visibility to personal and teams project actions & progress
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts of the Repair tool development & deployment process
  • Support the development of SII/OP Global Expense & CAPEX annual budgets for past, current & future tool & repair deployments
  • Participate & represent Global Tech Ops in tollgate, handoff, and prioritization meetings
  • Lead global validations & Beta Period of installation tooling/process by working with Repair Technologies, Platform Leaders, Repair Field Engineering, EHS and etc. to ensure timely and realistic trials; this will include the establishment of validation teams, identification of site location, logistics, TWPs/WDIs, execution and data collection / report outs
  • Lead and complete action plans coming out of tool/process validations as well as lead continuous improvements as new feedback are received to meet all CTQs
  • Define and coordinate global tool/process introduction strategy that contain quantity, packaging / kitting, maintenance / certifications cycles, cost, applicability to poles and affected turbine models
  • Establish global training requirements & strategy for new tool/processes; this will include building a curriculum, creating training levels, leading training sessions globally, & any additional knowledge transfer of use, handling, and maintenance of new tool / repair products
  • Provide input into New Platforms for New Units across Land and Megawatt Constrained segments
  • Stay current on trends in the industry and evaluate specialized tooling being developed by third parties and competitors to determine applicability and benefits in an effort to increase our safety, productivity, and competitiveness 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college + 6 years of experience in Power/Renewable Energy Services (or high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experiences in Power/Renewable Energy Services)
  • Minimum of 4 years wind turbine repair & deployment experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, which includes international travel and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge or work experience
  • Prior Repair and/or Installation On-site lead experience
  • REDP (Renewable Energy Development Program), RELP (Renewable Energy Leadership Program), FEP (Field Engineering Program), EED (Edison Engineering) graduate (GE Employee's only) 
  • Proficiency in technical writing and process documentation 
  • Project Coordination / Change Management / Influencing / Leadership skills 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision 
  • Safety conscious 
  • Detail orientated 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team
  • Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent quality certification.

The base pay range for this position is $104,200 - $$173,600 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation of 15%. This posting is expected to close no earlier than September 21, 2024.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
