We’re looking for a Driver Technician based out of our Washington site.

           

Full C+E driving license is mandatory for this role.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out full onsite assessments to ensure crane lifts happen in line with LOLER and company policies. Given the potential risks involved, safe practices and behaviours are a critical requirement.

  • Responsible for the designated vehicle at all times. Any fines are the responsibility of the driver.

  • Responsible for the completion of the daily defect reports for designated vehicle.

  • Ensure that any goods being carried do not render the vehicle unsafe or over its payload, referring to the weights card supplied in all vehicles and the driver’s manual.

  • Responsible for the safe use of the lorry loader on site and notifying any defects on the lorry loader to the Company using the digital app

  • Accurate recording of the fuel return quantity on the collection paperwork for both internal tanks and external IBCs and tanks, along with other requirements such as dates, times and equipment damage.

  • Obtain signed paperwork when delivering and/or collecting equipment from a customer's site and ensure timely submission of this paperwork.

  • Responsible for the management of their Digi tacho card.

  • Report any hazards or risk through the correct procedures.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Full C+E driving licence

  • Knowledge of EU Driving Hours Regulations, working time directive is beneficial

  • Knowledge of Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998

  • Full ADR certification (desirable)

  • Slingers and Signaller certification

  • Lorry Loader D1+E (desirable)

  • Drivers CPC card

  • You will be a fully competent HGV driver with licence category C+E, preferably draw bar experience (no more than six points)

  • Must be able to work six days a week every other week in accordance with (EU Driving Hours and Working Time Directive).

  • Must be able to work away from home when the vehicle is not utilised at its normal base.

  • Must be able to work a minimum of ten-hour shifts and a maximum of three fifteen-hour shifts when required, with break times to be dictated in accordance with Working Time Directive, and EU driving regulations.
