The role

You will apply your superior problem solving skills by conceptualizing solutions for the toughest problems in the commercial light electric vehicle space. You will need to put yourself in the shoes of a diverse range of stakeholders to truly understand their needs and pain points. You will work out and present your solutions back to the stakeholders and help Zoomo to define what the next product should be. This role is end2end, from insights gathering to when the product has proven to be a success in the market and is ideal for someone who has gone through this end2end cycle of physical product development before.

Reporting to the Director of Product Hardware, your responsibilities will include

• Gather and interpret insights, define and align on product and user experience requirements
• Create solution directions and detailed product concepts by means of sketching and 3D CAD
• Assess concept directions against stakeholder needs and manufacturing feasibility
• Collaborate with the team & suppliers to develop, prototype, manufacture and test products
• Develop a strong global supplier network to understand what is available and feasible
• Build best practice examples and processes for insights gathering and concept development

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years experience in product design or product development
• Software skills (Digital sketching, CAD literacy, Photoshop/Illustrator, Rendering skills)
• Demonstrated ability to brainstorm, sketch and illustrate product solutions
• Demonstrated ability to illustrate and explain complex workflows
• Experience working with cross functional teams (business, ops, engineering, manufacturing)
• Strong work ethic, high attention to details and commitment to achieving results
• Knowledge of creative methods to facilitate out of the box solutions
• Ability to collaborate with people from a variety of different backgrounds across the business
• Ability to work across time zones (Europe, US, Australia)
• Bachelor’s Degree (Industrial Design, Product Design)
