Location: Perth, Scotland. This role will start remotely, in line with current government guidelines. Going forward, this role has the flexibility to be a blend of home and office-based working so you need to be happy with travelling to the Perth office.

Where in the world of OVO will I be working? 

You’ll be working in the Membership Sales team at SSE where our key focus is to place the customer at the heart of everything we do. You’ll play an integral part of supporting your team to develop warm and enduring relationships, full of value and to elevate SSE as the most trusted provider in communities everywhere. Helping customers feel more at home with SSE.

 

What will I be doing?

As a Team Manager in Membership Sales, your key focus will be leading your team in delivering Sales through service as part of a busy multi-channel contact centre helping retain and promote new and existing market leading products to new and existing customers. You’ll be responsible for improving the performance of your team as well seeking opportunities to support the digitalisation of our members whilst delivering a 5* Trustpilot service.

We’re looking for someone who can be a role model and encourage and empower their team to excel in their role!

You will train and develop your team to reach their full potential as effective team members, including monitoring their performance and ensuring they are being as productive and efficient as possible.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leads sales environment which encourages performance excellence• Review and manage telephony performance to ensure efficiency and a quick and timely answer for our customers
  • Translating performance statistics into actions required for the ongoing improvement of performance and quality of the team.
  • Highlighting potential gaps in service delivery or processes which affect our Net Promoter Score - and working with partners to find effective solutions.
  • Working across the business forge excellent relationships with a range on internal stakeholders
  • Working with the Operations Manager to ensure our sales targets and qualitative metrics are met.
  • Mentoring and supporting members of the team to help them achieve their key performance metrics as well as mentoring experienced members of the team to further their development.
  • Champion our overarching objective of Plan Zero

Working 37 hours per week 8am -8pm although currently 8.30am until 6.15pm

 

Is this the job for me? 

You’re a people person and a natural leader with a passion for delivering sales through service. You’re experienced in performance management, coaching effectively and in your element when engaging and motivating a team.

You'll be a confident and clear communicator, with the ability to tailor your approach to each individual team member. We also need you to be flexible, enthusiastic, reliable and keen to muck in with the rest of the team.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience within a Contact Centre environment, even better if you’ve had experience within sales
  • Previous team leader experience
  • Experience of coaching and development
