Job Description

Our Mission

Span’s smart panel replaces the electrical panel to become the center for connected power in the home.  With Span, homeowners receive all the safety features of a standard panel with revolutionary insights and edge-of-grid controls through our mobile app.

The Role

In this role, you will be the leader driving effective management and control of product data throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your work will directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of data that is the backbone for engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing. You will work with the engineering team, product team, operations and external partners to enable the development, launch, and sustainability of the product.

Role & Team Responsibilities:

  • Oversee release of BOM and supporting documentation in Arena PLM system.
  • Creating, structuring, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) during engineering development.
  • Navigate part creation and change management by reviewing, analyzing and documenting product changes as part of the product development within the PLM tool.
  • Creating, reviewing and approving engineering change orders (ECOs), providing feedback to engineers when necessary.
  • Collecting and maintaining component data sheets, lifecycle information, and compliance documentation in PLM.
  • Manage all engineering data and design various downstream tools for all PLM processes.
  • Collaborate with all PLM software applications suppliers and assist in configuration of appropriate supplier relationship management solutions.
  • Communicate effectivity dates with relation to change management and general PLM functions to supply chain, planning and operations.
  • Support development of internal processes within the PLM tool to streamline communication between cross-functional stakeholders from engineering to supply chain, quality, purchasing, operations, and service.
  • Help document best practices and business processes, implement training to teach end users how to get the most out of the system.

About You

Required Qualifications

We are seeking a Product Lifecycle Management Leader who has:

  • 10+ years of well-rounded experience within engineering or supply chain functions, specifically engaged with or leading the PLM function.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring and developing process extensions in PLM systems.
  • Understanding of basic BOM components (preferably for hardware products).
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem solve.
  • Advanced experience in spreadsheets and similar analysis/planning tools.
  • Detail oriented accuracy.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal).
  • Ability to react to resets and changes in a time sensitive environment.

Bonus Qualifications

We would love to hire someone who has:

  • Experience working at a startup and in new product launch environments.
