One Concern Japan is a small and growing team that has a startup mentality and is on the frontline for One Concern’s efforts in Japan. Japanese market is of strategic importance for One Concern and we partnered with a strategic partner to deploy its products in the Japanese market. As a business development manager, you will be one of the key members of our Japan Business Development team, reporting directly to the Business Development VP. You will lead efforts to engage new clients and manage the relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Generate new business and partnership by presenting how One Concern products/services solve client issues.
  • Develop best practices to engage clients and maximize business opportunity in Japanese market.
  • Serve as client-facing business expert who can understand client needs and demonstrate and explain use cases for One Concern's product to address those needs.
  • Liaise with One Concern team in Menlo Park to stay informed on product technical changes and product roadmap, as well as to communicate emerging customer requests and feedback

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience within a Business Development or Professional Service role with software products, preferably SaaS, or business and/or IT consulting service in Japanese market.
  • Experience to develop new business with software products, preferably SaaS, in Japanese market.
  • Highly motivated to engage new clients and solve their issues with One Concern product.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Motivation to learn new things.
  • Strong aptitude for technical/software products.
  • Oral and written communication skills in Japanese at the native speaker level.
  • English language skills to communicate with US colleagues.
  • Advanced documentation and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Open to travel all over Japan.
  • BS/BA or equivalent level degree holder August 2021

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with engaging clients in the finance services industry.
  • Experience as a consultant at a business and/or IT consulting firm.
  • Experience consulting in the natural disaster space.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the business continuity planning (BCP) or business continuity management (BCM) space.
  • Experience working with an international/ geographically distributed team.
  • Experience at an early stage Saas startup
