ABOUT PLEDGE

Pledge helps businesses of any size understand and manage the climate impact of their products. By providing tools and infrastructure, we automate the delivery of climate solutions - such as footprint measurement and offsetting - into customer journeys.

We're on a mission to raise climate change awareness and support businesses in their net zero transition. Pledge was founded in 2021 by early employees of Revolut and the co-founder of Freetrade.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Pledge’s first People hire, you’ll shape the People & Culture function: designing and implementing strategies, systems and processes to support the growth and wider ambitions of the business. You'll work in close collaboration with the founders as well as internal stakeholders.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • You’ll define Pledge’s People & Culture strategy
  • Build and participate in the talent acquisition function
  • Advise the team on rewards & benefits, recruitment & hiring strategies as well as training and development.
  • Set up procedures and policies to support our growth
  • Lead on performance development and talent management programmes

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Previous experience in a senior People/ HR role at a start-up or scale-up organisation (preferably B2B)
  • An expert in mentoring, coaching and developing team members
  • A strong background in employee relations
  • Experience developing retention and reward programs
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills encompassing challenging conversations, coaching leaders and communicating initiatives across teams
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation & policies in the UK
  • Must have a HR qualification
