ABOUT PLEDGE

Pledge is a climate infrastructure platform making it simple for businesses of every size to integrate carbon measurement & offsetting tools into their customer experience. The initial focus is set on high-emitting use cases such as logistics and transportation. The team is on a mission to make businesses climate aware and help accelerate their transition to net zero.

Pledge was founded in 2021 by early employees of Revolut and the co-founder of Freetrade. Investors include climate and b2b technology investors Visionaries Club, Lowercarbon Capital as well as the founders of Checkout.com and Unity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Pledge’s first People hire, you’ll shape the People & Culture function: designing and implementing strategies, systems, and processes to support the growth and wider ambitions of the business. You'll work in close collaboration with the founders as well as internal stakeholders.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • You’ll define Pledge’s People & Culture strategy

  • Ensure the smooth running of People Operations, including Payroll, onboarding/off-boarding, and monthly metrics.

  • Set up procedures and policies to support our growth

  • Lead on performance development and talent management programmes

  • Provide consistent support to our colleagues, answering employee and manager questions on HR-related matters

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Previous experience in a senior People/ HR role at a start-up or scale-up organisation (preferably B2B)

  • An expert in mentoring, coaching and developing team members

  • Tech-savvy with a keen interest for anything HR Tech & Systems

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent understanding of employment law and legislation in the UK, CIPD qualified highly preferable

  • Ability to build, nurture relationships and interact with all levels of management

  • Talent Acquisition experience (Desirable)
