We are a growing UX team, creating software solutions for farmers, grain buyers, agronomists, and others. We are looking for a Senior User Experience Researcher to join our User Research team and help make it a driving force for change in the farming industry. Responsibilities:

  • Deepen our understanding of farmers and what they bring to their agronomic decisions
    • Build on existing user research about regenerative agriculture adoption and practices
    • Channel the efforts of passionate people to learn how best to support behavior change towards more sustainable soil health practices.
    • Bring deep knowledge of User Research practices to guide learning efforts across different teams and functions
    • Identify, socialize, and conduct high value research across the team
    • Support UX teammates as they conduct concept testing and design validation studies
    • Spread the joy of deep user understanding across the Carbon by Indigo offering
  • Help build User Research as a discipline across the company
    • Advocate and enable User Research democracy by helping to develop tools, templates, and processes to support self-serve User Research
    • Coach cross-functional teammates in building User Research skills
    • Exemplify and evangelize the power of high-quality User Research to drive product and company success
  • Ensure the efficiency and reach of User Research insights 
    • Help design, establish, and socialize a robust storehouse of user insights that enables teammates to see easily what we know about different user types

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading studies across the spectrum of User Research: foundational and generative research, discovery (big D and little d), concept testing, design validation, and measurement
  • Experience leading field research and including non-research teammates
  • Demonstrated skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Strong experience applying appropriate methods to research questions, considering needs, resources, and constraints
  • Experience supporting research across multiple scrum teams or squads
  • Experience coaching non-user researchers in user research basics
  • Experience working in early development teams (early product, low N of users, ambiguity)
  • Bonus points for:
    • Background in agriculture – farming, ranching, grain marketing – or finance (trading)
    • Experience with a variety of User Research tools
