The Role

You will develop a deep understanding of electric light vehicle regulations and related national and internal standards. Where there is regulatory uncertainty, you will liaise with experts and advisors until resolved. You will translate regulatory requirements into product requirements and as part of the engineering team, you will ensure our vehicle designs are ultimately compliant. This is also a very hands-on engineering role and if required, you will support the team with product development and engineering activities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and understand all regulatory related requirements for Zoomos vehicle portfolio
  • Drive regulatory compliance of vehicles and ensure all products are compliant
  • Be the subject matter expert for regulations and relevant standards
  • Be the key point of contact with external regulatory test houses
  • Create technical documentation appropriate for regulatory submissions
  • Evaluate product, labelling and manufacturing changes for regulatory compliance
  • Hands-on support of the engineering team with the implementation of regulatory requirements
  • Hands-on support of the engineering team with product design and engineering
  • Ensure traceability between regulatory requirements, product design and manufacturing
  • Report directly to the Director of Hardware

Requirements

  • Strong initiative to independently drive regulatory compliance in a start-up environment
  • Knowledge of ebike standards (EN15194) or EU L1e-A/B homologation requirements and if not, willingness and ability quickly learn all about it
  • 2-3 years experience in a regulatory role or with exposure to regulatory requirements
  • Strong work ethic, high attention to details and commitment to achieving results
  • Experience working with ISO standards or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Automotive, Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics)
  • Bonus points if you have done L1e-A/B vehicle homologation before, from start to finish
  • Bonus points if you have an automotive grade supplier network in Australia or Asia
