Who You Are
You will be responsible for the supervision of 6 Sila maintenance technicians and will be tasked with building a strong maintenance team that will support our efforts to consistently produce material with safely operating tools. The role is responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution of all maintenance work to support the operating plant, R&D facilities and buildings.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage, motivate, develop and provide direct leadership to maintenance staff
- Hire and oversee outside professionals such as electricians, plumbers etc.
- Coordinate work for the team - develop comprehensive job plans that include LOTO, approved procedures, parts, PPE and other tools and materials needed to complete work safely and efficiently
- Schedule maintenance activities for the team by understanding priorities, engaging the right team members and ensuring job plans are complete and teammates are set up for success.
- Assist in a variety of maintenance activities as needed
- Develop and maintain a planning and scheduling routine and preventive maintenance of equipment, prioritizing and estimating work and technical assistance when developing job plans
- Inspect and maintain building and production systems such as heating, electrical, air conditioning, ventilation etc.
- Perform periodic inspections of recently maintained equipment so as to observe the quality of the maintenance performed and the operating condition of the equipment
- Keep in check and regulate budget and track maintenance expenditures
- Regularly check and inspect the material and tools inventory and place order when needed
- Assist with the implementation of capital projects and provide input on equipment maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety rules, guidelines and regulations
- Create, improve, and use standard operating procedures and equipment best practices
- Collaborate with manufacturing operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot process tooling and equipment, supporting the operations team in high operational uptime
- Drive improvement projects that support safer and more efficient ways of performing preventative maintenance and tool support
- Train new industrial maintenance technicians as the team grows
- Communicate findings and observations from maintenance activities to engineers and operations team as needed
- Participate in root cause failure analysis investigations
- Lead the development of a strong maintenance team and infrastructure at Alameda
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 10+ years experience in manufacturing maintenance
- Ability to work carefully with sensitive parts and large tools
- Consistent and reliable task completion
- Knowledge of basic equipment operation and troubleshooting (Machinery, metals work is preferred)
- Familiar with root cause failure analysis.
- Consistent and clear communication across multiple teams
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to walk long distances and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to occasionally kneel or bend
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection when required
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes
The starting base pay for this role is between $114,000 and $145,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
