Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Mechanical Construction Supervisor in Tozeur, Tunisia to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Mechanical Construction Supervisor you will supervise all mechanical activities at site, monitor physical progress of the works and report status and deviations on quality, time, cost and HSSE, engage daily with the site managers of sub-suppliers.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Supervise all mechanical activities at site, monitor physical progress of the works and report status and deviations on quality, time, cost and HSSE, engage daily with the site managers of main and subcontractors. Responsible for the construction of mechanical works element of the plant such as piles, trackers and metal structures, modules, fences, tower erection, HV and MV mechanical assembly of equipment, etc.
  • Fill, verify and review different reporting site systems with accurate inputs and updates on a daily basis
  • Review and approve construction documentation submitted by contractor as Method Statements, request support and approval from the engineering team when required. Support Quality Team to review material/component specifications and datasheets
  • Organize in cooperation with Main and Sub-Contractor(s) and lead Pre-Construction Meetings related to mechanical activities, secure that activities at site only starts after common agreement from those meetings
  • Monitor physical progress from contractors on a daily basis, evaluate estimations to complete in cooperation with the planning team and demand action and/or recovery plans from contractors when needed. Support Quantity Surveillance to manage measurable contracts when applicable
  • Coordinate SSO quality Inspectors about critical activities and where they shall be present at site daily for random physical inspections and audits, in addition to their witness and hold point requests
  • Support the Engineering, core and site team through technical studies and designs
  • Assist quality team on NCR process at site, taken ownership to follow up implementation of corrective actions
  • Be part of final inspections and completion of activities at site, follow up and chase for final documentation (punch list, final red marked drawings “as build” drawings
  • Conduct testing, inspection, and commissioning of mechanical systems to verify proper operation

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician (specialization in Solar and/or renewables will be advantage)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in the field of EPC in medium to large size construction projects
  • Knowledge about mechanical best industry practices
  • Knowledge about Quality Control System, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis, Ishikawa and so on
  • 1+ years PV experience and/or High Voltage will be advantage
  • At least Intermediate both written and spoken in English, Fluent French and Arabic.
  • Driving license.
  • An excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Independent and self-dependent working
  • Proactive and initiative-taking
  • Good report writing skills
