IT Support Engineer

Reporting to: Director, IT

Location:  San Francisco Office

Position Mission:  Generate Capital is hiring an IT Support Engineer reporting directly to the Director, IT on the Data & Technology team. The mission of this position is to provide ongoing technical support for Generate Capital’s growing userbase across geographies.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As an IT Support Engineer, you will work as part of the Data & Technology team in supporting our organization through identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to our computer systems and networks across locations. You will also help interface with our 3rd party support partner to communicate Generate’s ongoing support needs. You are passionate about problem solving and enjoy collaborating with a variety of different users. You can juggle, and juggle well, managing a variety of priorities and projects simultaneously while remaining patient and empathetic with our users.

 

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as an IT Support Engineer

  • Provide a variety of support to our globally dispersed userbase including end-user support, application support, basic server support, and networking support
  • Communicate issues, progress, and resolutions with the user and escalate technical issues, as necessary
  • Actively create and maintain documentation regarding our systems and projects
  • Escalate and communicate issues in a timely fashion to the team
  • Continue to develop your knowledge and skillset across data and technology

 

 

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
  • Passion for IT, computers, and mobile devices
  • Windows and Mac OS understanding and troubleshooting experience
  • Microsoft Office understanding and troubleshooting experience
  • Basic networking understanding including WAN/LAN, switches, routers and WiFi
  • The ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems and to recognize when the problem is beyond your abilities
  • Experience in a technical End-User support role
  • Ability to organize time and prioritize tasks independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references
