Position: Associate Field Trial Manager; Location: Remote - Midwest location required

We are seeking an Associate Field Trial Manager to take ownership of daily management, coordination and assuring execution of nationwide field studies developed by our team of trial managers to determine how our products can improve crop yield and meet the needs of cereal crop farmers.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in management and assuring execution of early-stage field experiments including:
    • Protocol development
    • Database/field book creation
    • Training cooperators on protocols
    • Grower/cooperator communication to include weekly phone check-ins
    • Handling in-season questions from 3rd party and company staff
    • Data and sample management including standardization of sample label creation/design, and sample shipment coordination/updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with agronomy, commercial, and research and discovery colleagues
  • Responsible for:
    • Trial logistics and communication, with contractors
    • Data munging and archival
    • On-site plot QC of field trials
  • Assist in providing written research summaries that can be used to support product management, positioning and advancement.
  • Assist in design and implementation of field studies.
  • Maintain USDA Regulatory Compliance. Ensure trials are conducted within regulatory and stewardship policy and paperwork is accurately completed in a timely manner.
  • Visit field trials to ensure quality and execution and assist with sample collection/s
  • Travel up to 40% of the time.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS. Agronomy or Horticulture related field preferred plus at least five years’ field research experience required.
  • Strong background in agricultural field research and solid understanding of agricultural products including plant nutrition, organics, biologicals, crop protection chemicals and adjuvants/surfactants
  • Ability to follow experimental protocols and complex instructions and be a resource to contractors in understanding/implementing these
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to assist in managing multiple projects across nationwide sites with input from several teams
  • Practical knowledge and experience in data entry, organization, and transfer. Advanced-level proficiency in Excel is required. Knowledge of ARM trial management software is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, i.e., heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc. for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time.
  • Seasonally the workday may be expanded to allow for tasks to be completed.
