Position: Commercial Agronomist; Location: Remote within South East Pennsylvania

We are seeking Commercial Agronomists to build lasting relationships with growers who are utilizing Pivot Bio products in order to deliver a more consistent and reliable source of nitrogen to crops. These positions will be part of the Pivot Bio Commercial Team, which is focused on delivering cutting edge solutions to farmers.

As a critical member of our Commercial Agronomy team, you will help positively impact our sales team, customers, and channel partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with Pivot Bio growers to help ensure their success while utilizing our Pivot Bio products on their operations.
  • Work as part of the commercial team to deliver product knowledge to employees, sales representatives, and customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and future customers to strengthen product knowledge and stewardship.
  • Lead agronomic troubleshooting for any problems customers may face with our product.
  • Work in partnership with the Product Develop team to characterize and demonstrate the advantages of new commercial and pre-commercial products.
  • Regularly integrate emerging technology tools to demonstrate that our products are reliably replacing synthetic nitrogen in growers’ fields.
  • Travel up to 60% of the time.

Required skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field experience plus at least three years of customer-facing experience on farms.
  • Strong background in agronomy or related field with a solid understanding of agricultural products, including plant nutrition, biologicals, crop protection chemicals and adjuvants/surfactants.
  • Ability to plan, troubleshoot and evaluate product performance in customers’ fields utilizing precision software.
  • A strong understanding of soil biome and biological processes driven by microorganisms.
  • Strong practical knowledge of and experience with chemical applications, data capture/entry.
  • Ability to incorporate technology tools and systems (remote sensing, aerial imagery etc.) and interpret results with customers. Willingness adopt and utilize emerging technology tools (i.e., novel sensors).
  • Ability to engage/present in customer field days, meetings, as well as certain company events.
  • Strong fertilizer and fertility knowledge from products, applications, practices, and crop need.
  • Fluent in understanding and ability to educate on nitrogen and nitrogen management.

P hysical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, i.e., heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc. for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time.
  • Seasonally the workday may be expanded to allow for tasks to be completed.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift to 55 lbs.
