What is the role?

We are looking for an Associate Director of Marketing Operations to help us build and operate a marketing technology stack and performance management for brand-level and demand generation initiatives.

In this role, you will report directly to Sidewalk’s Head of Marketing. You will be an integral part of Sidewalk’s Policy, Communications, and Marketing team. Day-to-day, you will work with the teams across our product portfolio to create an end-to-end marketing funnel that mirrors objectives within the sales pipeline, and implement a campaign tracking framework. You will advise and execute on initiatives pertaining to campaign tracking, lead management, database segmentation, external resource management, and budget management.

We have multi-tiered go-to-market plans, with consideration for each product under the Sidewalk Labs portfolio. This newly-created role will be pivotal in helping us manage multiple stakeholders and find the balance between standardization and customization with related marketing technologies and processes.

What You Will Achieve

After 1 month you will have

  • Established relationships with functional colleagues in product marketing and cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and legal.
  • Developed an understanding of the product businesses and growth goals for the remainder of the year and upcoming year
  • Audited current stack and advised on purchase and implementation of marketing technology solutions needed across the organization
  • Developed systems architecture for marketing campaigns planning, execution, and reporting in partnership with product marketers

After 3 months you will have

  • Taken ownership of multi-channel marketing campaigns set up and nurture flows intended to engage & convert clients & prospects
  • Partnered with product marketers and sales/business development colleagues, as appropriate and provided baseline analysis and plan to fill data gaps, as needed
  • Developed templates for agency briefing and product marketing freelancer/ contractor SOWs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volumes of requests and troubleshooting needs and develop methods to establish, streamline, and improve internal workflows and processes
  • Begun tracking ROI of marketing activities to ensure effectiveness and recommendations for continued investment

After 6 months you will have

  • Become adept with growth terminology and communication, i.e. TCV (total contract value) and CAC (customer acquisition costs)
  • Proven best agile practices to deploy marketing capabilities within new product businesses and continuously improve how more established product businesses work

After 12 months you will have

  • Advanced capabilities to lead account-based marketing efforts, as applicable
  • Convened product marketers for quarterly planning, budget review and assessment cycles
  • Developed Marketing Community of Practice knowledge wiki

What We Expect

Ideally, you will have:

  • 5+ years of direct marketing operations experience including building and maintaining marketing processes and technology integrations across a full stack. Bonus if you have a startup technology background.
  • 3+ years of email marketing systems experience (Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, etc.) Bonus if you have strong knowledge of GDPR and email privacy laws in relation to global B2B email marketing
  • 3+ years of CRM experience, specifically Salesforce, and a knack for database structure, hygiene, and analytics
  • Ability to create a vision that allows us to scale, automate, and more effectively use data
  • A methodical approach to finding solutions that will work well into the future as we incubate and launch other products and businesses

Subject matter expertise

  • You have a background in B2B Marketing operations for early-stage products. You should be able to quickly develop a deep understanding of our B2B marketing objectives, and formulate strategies that build the functional capacity
  • You have experience with different digital and offline marketing channels (social, events, email, etc.)
