The Climatebase Fellowship: We launched the first cohort of the Climatebase Fellowship in 2022. Since then, we have helped accelerate the climate careers of over 2,400 Fellows that we've selected from over 11,000 applicants across 6 cohorts. We are currently mid-way through cohort 6.
The Climatebase Fellowship, now in its sixth iteration, is our climate career accelerator for top mission-driven professionals. Bringing together selective cohorts of Fellow peers and experts, the community-focused interdisciplinary educational experience is designed to help talented professionals accelerate their existing careers in climate or transition into the space.
The Fellowship includes an online 12-week cohort-based program and 1 year of membership in the broader Fellowship community after the cohort concludes.
The Operations Coordinator will play a key role in supporting several core areas of the Climatebase Fellowship experience: event management, community engagement, applicant support, and overall team operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and a passion for creating impactful experiences for Fellows.
As a fully remote team, we offer the flexibility to work from anywhere within the Western Hemisphere (time zones in Eastern Time, Central Time, South America, or Western Europe (GMT -1) are strongly preferred).
Event Coordination:
Support the planning and execution of Fellowship events.
Creating event scripts, setting up event pages, generating event links, and ensuring all event logistics are managed smoothly.
Providing technical support and troubleshooting during live events to ensure a seamless participant experience, including light facilitation.
Community Engagement:
Platform Management: Regularly update and optimize the community platform, including settings, adding event listings for community-organized events, content updates, and design enhancements to boost engagement.
Fellow Engagement: Actively monitor the platform to identify opportunities to engage with Fellows, guide them to resources, and facilitate connections with their peers.
Direct Support: Respond to inquiries and direct messages from Fellows in a timely and supportive manner, ensuring they receive the help they need.
Applicant Support:
Inbox and Ticketing Management: Monitor the inbox and ticketing system to address urgent inquiries from applicants promptly.
Knowledge Base Utilization: Provide accurate responses to applicant questions by referencing the team’s Knowledge Base and guidelines.
Team Operations & Support:
Maintain clear and organized documentation of meetings, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Support in process optimization to improve efficiency.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in operations, event coordination, community management, project management, social media management, or a similar role in a dynamic environment. Internship experience is also welcome.
Exceptional Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Fellows, team members, and external stakeholders.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, Notion, etc.). Experience with community or event management platforms is a plus.
Action-Oriented: Proclivity towards taking action and being a self-starter to ensure that goals are being met.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and being able to quickly pivot when priorities change.
Team Collaboration: A collaborative team player who can also work independently, take initiative, and own their tasks from start to finish.
Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive, resourceful, and able to troubleshoot issues efficiently to ensure seamless event and community experiences.
Passion for Climate Action: A genuine interest in climate solutions and a desire to contribute to meaningful change in the climate space.
