We are seeking to expand the Consumer Solutions and the VPP team with the addition of an experienced Senior Analyst/Energy Trader. In this role, you will bring your experience to bear in building and overseeing the growth of VPPs and other products and services in multiple state and market programs, and initiatives through design, integration and deployment of various connectors in our products and technology solutions.
- Leverage your knowledge of wholesale energy markets to analyze and report on the performance of the growing GoodGrid fleet.
- Responsible for generating insightful and actionable analyses, communicating complex and nuanced topics to broad audiences, and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with Product and Engineering, and your work will inform the deployment of new trading strategies under defined market conditions, balancing risk and expected returns from different trading strategies.
- Contribute to GoodLeap’s mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy in the home and the modernization of the grid by driving continuous analysis and strategy improvement in battery revenues.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze data‐driven insights from analytics and reporting tools to provide actionable intelligence on the performance of the wholesale battery fleet, identifying trends, patterns, and areas for improvement to inform future strategic trading decisions and optimize business outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross‐functional teams of algorithm engineers and software engineers to automate reporting tools and processes, ensuring seamless scalability and efficiency.
- Conduct market analysis and prepare revenue projection reports, running various simulations and performance optimizer formulas for a multi‐DER portfolio of assets.
- Facilitate and participate in regular meetings with internal stakeholders and external organizations to drive collaborative understanding and alignment on battery fleet and multi‐DER performance metrics and revenue strategies.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams on further iterations, improvements and evolutions of the GoodGrid proprietary software to encompass real‐time, day‐ahead, and market participation in regulated and deregulated markets.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- 5+ years professional experience in energy‐related commodity trading or electricity market research
- Degree in Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Exceptional data management skills, with a proven ability to work with large datasets, organize logically and efficiently, and extract actionable insights
- Proven professional experience with simulation techniques to evaluate, develop, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights that drive informed investment and trading decisions
- Track record of positively impacting investment or trading decisions through your own market analysis and insights
- Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy, ensuring data integrity and reliability
- Excellent communication, both written and interpersonal, effectively conveying complex findings and results to both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with cross‐functional teams and produce and coordinate time‐ sensitive deliverables
- Experience with both energy and ancillary service products as well as with stationary storage is preferred
Compensation: $120k-$170k DOE
