About the Team
The Payments team is responsible for building, maintaining, scaling and supporting high availability of GoodLeap’s payment integration services to support our customers’ collection of payments and receipt of payouts for their Solar and Home Efficiency companies. The team is actively building tooling to drive faster payments in new and innovative ways. This team is made up of a product manager, engineering manager, and several engineers with various skill sets and levels. The team cares deeply about code quality, alerts, dashboards, pipelines, and other automation to ensure the quality of our team's products. We are pushing the boundaries of technology at GoodLeap and always have new and interesting projects. There is a good mix of green field work and improvement work.

On the technical side, the team leverages technologies like Typescript, NodeJs, .Net, DynamoDB, MongoDb, Postgres SQL, GitHub Actions, SST (Serverless stack), Lambda functions, Datadog, NestJs, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes and Elastic Search to build all of these cool systems.


Some of what you'll do here:

  • Build and deliver high-quality, performant frontend and backend code across content codebases and applications (JavaScript / Typescript / ReactJS / NodeJS / .NET)
  • Collaborate with user experience designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver new features, enhancements, platform improvements and bug fixes
  • Collaborate with other engineers to write testable, reliable code, continuously deploying to production systems
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews and product development
  • Contribute to the career development of other engineers, using methodologies like pair programming to up-level and teach
  • Deploy and monitor large-scale distributed systems
  • Analyze and optimize application/platform code and/or APIs for efficiency and performance
  • Lead hands-on implementation work to keep current with technology trends inside and outside Goodleap

To be successful, you should have:

  • The typical problem-solving and algorithmic experience that one expects in any software engineering role
  • Strong experience in one or more of the following technologies with a strong desire and ability to expand your skill set: Typescript, Node, JavaScript, .Net, React, NextJS and AWS platform.
  • Experience integrating with a payment processor such as Stripe
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and working with databases

  • Understanding of large-scale web applications (clustering, scalability, caching, performance tuning)
  • Understanding of agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, and agile engineering practices like Test-Driven Development, Continuous integration, and other Extreme programming practices
  • Proficient in Elastic Search, GraphQL, Kafka, and Docker
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
