What you will do
Join us in helping companies of different sizes and industries take their own climate action today. We are dedicated to working as a team towards our common goal: making net zero a reality.

Become part of our Digital Products team in Barcelona where we work in cross-functional and autonomous teams including Product Owners and Designers that co-create products and take ownership from idea to impact.

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions that empower our users and advance our company’s mission. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners and designers, to translate requirements into efficient and robust code.

With all that said, however, we believe in hiring the person, not the title. We’d rather spend more effort on the next parts of this job advertisement, and we’d like to direct your attention there instead. Who you are
You're not one of those “rockstars,” “ninjas,” or “10x developers,” because we simply don’t have any use for these hotshot people. We do, however, expect you to have solid fundamentals when it comes to software development, troubleshooting, system design, and most importantly, teamwork — pair coding (and with it, peer reviewing) is an integral part of our engineering principles here.

You know your way around JavaScript/TypeScript and its ecosystem, especially on the front-end side. It would also greatly help if you find yourself comfortable with common engineering topics like system architecture, databases, web security, continuous integration/delivery/deployment, and the like. You don’t need to have a PhD under your belt or any degree in that regard, however, nor do we ask for two hundred years of experience. As long as you can write some elegant, well-tested code and, when bugs happen (because they sometimes do) turn around to fix them in a timely fashion, you’re good enough for us, skill-wise.

You have a lot of ideas and are not afraid to speak out and take a stand for them. At the same time, you appreciate that everyone else has their own ideas, too, and you’re willing to take them into consideration, provided they come with solid arguments and backing up data. We believe smart people out there call this “strong opinions weakly held.”

You’re hard-working, but you value work-life balance. If life happens to be a tad heavier than work on your scale, we’re cool with that too. We expect you to put in your best for 40 hours a week and will do our best to help you spend the rest of your time on things that matter personally: your family, your 8+ hours of sleep each night, your pet (or pets), your personal growth, etc.

Talking about personal growth: You’re constantly learning. We believe that by getting better at your job, you’re doing the company a favor and not the other way around. We expect you to share the same mindset and will be reminding you to put it into practice: read a book, take a course, or go to a conference. It’s not an option to not grow with ClimatePartner.
