Reporting to the VP of Hardware and Systems, this role involves designing PCBAs, developing firmware for motor drivers, and troubleshooting hardware issues on deployed units.</span></div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Designing and revising electrical and embedded subsystems in the current and next generation of Burro robots </li><li>Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation and testing</li><li>Producing PCBAs’ and wiring diagrams suitable for manufacturing</li><li>Building prototypes, debugging and repairing test systems, and supporting products in field</li><div><br></div></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>BS/MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science</li><li>5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, with a proven track record of delivering successful products that make customers happy</li><li>Familiarity with design practices that support scalability, such as modular firmware architecture, reusable hardware components, and robust testing frameworks</li><li>In-depth knowledge of embedded system architecture</li><li>Experience with schematic and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer</li><li>Good programming skills in C</li><li>Working knowledge of standard communication buses and protocols (e.g. UART, USB, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.)</li><li>Solid embedded hardware and software debugging skills.
