Job Description

Our Mission

At SPAN, we are building products to enable the rapid adoption of renewable energy. As more distributed energy resources like solar and storage come onto the grid, it’s increasingly important to be able to improve the technology that sits between the grid, the home, and those distributed energy resources. SPAN’s smart panel replaces the electrical panel to become the center for connected power in the home.  With SPAN, homeowners receive all the safety features of a standard panel with revolutionary insights and edge-of-grid controls through our mobile app.

The Role

You’ll be a key member of the cross-functional Product & Applications Engineering team, with the mission to bring exceptional energy products to market. You'll work at the intersection of SPAN’s Product, Sales, and Engineering teams to communicate both the value and implementation details of SPAN’s products. You will be a product expert and help SPAN customers and installers deploy SPAN across the U.S. Ultimately, you will translate your product knowledge and implementation expertise into creative solutions for our customers, to ensure the very best SPAN experience.

Members of our team are collaborative, hands-on, creative, and most of all passionate about driving the adoption of electrification and clean energy technologies at scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and own processes for internal knowledge sharing between Product/Engineering and Sales/Deployments

  • Work with national and regional utilities, solar installer, home builders, and customers to educate them about SPAN, our products, features, and services

  • Serve as the product expert for diligence related to large customers and large-volume partnerships

  • Serve as technical contact for internal/external groups to articulate how SPAN’s products may be deployed in various applications

  • Develop tools and technical documentation to help customers design SPAN homes

  • Collect, organize, and disseminate market feedback, and collaborate with the product team to scope new feature requests and new product applications

  • Assist business development & sales conversations as the technical expert in key partner conversations

  • Collaborate with sales & applications Engineering in reviewing higher-complexity site configurations, to give install configuration recommendations

  • Build tools to streamline project evaluation and guidance.

  • Develop relationships with SPAN’s installation partners to uncover areas to improve sales and deployment efficiency
