In this dynamic and fast-paced role, your ability to quickly adapt will be crucial to maintaining smooth operations.
As a key member of our Supply Chain & Logistics team, you will play an essential role in ensuring the efficient procurement and logistics operations for our DAC (Direct Air Capture) plants. This includes managing the daily direct purchasing of parts, building digital warehouse systems in MES, and contribute to the successful shipment of our DAC units internationally. You’ll also be responsible for supporting software procurement alongside hardware acquisitions, ensuring all necessary materials are sourced on time, within budget, and at optimal quality.Here's what the first 12 months in the role could look like:Months 0-3: - Quickly familiarize yourself with our procurement processes, focusing on the direct purchase of critical components for our DAC plants
- Handle goods receipt and manage accurate logging and proper storage of items
- Support the digital integration of the warehouse into our MES system, ensuring a seamless PO-to-goods receipt process
Months 3-6: - Take an active role in restructuring the warehouse by organizing and optimizing space usage and improve labeling system
- Further contribute to the development of the digital warehouse system, ensuring complete traceability and transparency within the MES system
- Assist in the coordination of shipment of large equipment, including shipment regulations, handling customs and compliance for international shipping
Months 6-12: - Take responsibility for strengthening relationships with suppliers, ensuring best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules for both hardware and software
- Take responsibility in optimizing inventory management and continuing to streamline containerized international shipments
- Lead both software and hardware procurement initiatives
About you
Basic Qualifications- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, a master with a major in Supply Chain Management is a plus
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles, with a focus on direct procurement and logistics, particularly in (plant or process) manufacturing environments, demonstrating consistent delivery of results.
- Hands-on experience with ERP, ideally MES systems, with a solid understanding of managing POs, goods receipt, and inventory tracking through digital platforms
- Ability to support the restructuring and organization of warehouse processes, with a focus on digitization and efficiency
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in all purchasing activities
- Proactive to learning, in identifying and solving issues with a can-do mindset
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions
- Proficiency in English (German language skills are a plus)
Preferred Skills and Experience- Previous experience in managing the direct procurement of specialized components, particularly in a technical or industrial field
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and contribute to long-term planning and operational improvements
- Familiarity with software procurement processes is advantageous
- Familiarity with international shipping procedures, especially container shipping for large-scale projects
Additional Requirements:- Willingness to occasionally travel for international shipping and logistics operations as needed

This role cannot be done fully remotely. We require someone who lives within commuting distance to Essen or is open to relocate which we are happy to support.
