About Project Regeneration:

Project Regeneration is a new non-profit in the SF Bay Area. Founded by Paul Hawken, Project Regeneration builds off of the NYT-Bestselling, Regeneration: Ending the Climate Crisis in One Generation (Penguin Random House) published on September 21st, 2021.

Regeneration offers a visionary new approach to climate change, one that weaves justice, climate, biodiversity, equity, and human dignity into a seamless tapestry of action, policy, and transformation that can end the climate crisis in one generation. It is the first book to describe and define the burgeoning regeneration movement spreading rapidly throughout the world.

Regeneration describes how an inclusive movement can engage the majority of humanity to prevent the growing threats of global warming, with climate solutions that directly serve children, the poor, and the excluded. This means we must address current human needs, not future existential threats, real as they are, with initiatives that include but go well beyond solar, electric vehicles, and tree planting to include such solutions as the fifteen-minute city, bioregions, azolla fern, food localization, fire ecology, decommodification, forests as farms, and the number one emissions solution: electrifying everything.

About Nexus:

Nexus is a digital compendium of climate challenges and solutions for every sector, spotlighting issues and actions featured in Regeneration: Ending the Climate Crisis in One Generation. A “transit center” for action, Nexus points to the best organizations, resources, communities, and support groups across multiple institutions, geographies, cultures, and people. Each Nexus piece will directly link to learning and community initiatives within Climate Action Systems (our learning and action software technology) and have sharable options designed for email, social media, and other platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct deep desk research for a wide range of climate topics by finding wisdom, science, and success stories relevant to the piece. Modeling experience is a plus.
  • Identify, summarize, synthesize, and organize compelling and accurate data and examples to inform writing on the Nexus piece.
  • Write the start of pages detailing the most impactful actions for different levels of agency for that topic (e.g., the initial content for the Bioregions page). The writing should be creative, intersectional, concise, yet comprehensive.
  •  Monitor and track latest developments in the field to improve and localize content.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent critical thinking, writing, and research skills
  • Ability to synthesize diverse sources into cogent and clear writing
  • Skilled at organization and time management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in English
  • Educational and previous work experience which demonstrate a commitment to climate science, environmental health, justice and the values of Project Regeneration.
  • A background or expertise in Wilding, Industry, and Oceans is a plus.
