The Role: Senior Hydrogen Product Engineer – System Interfaces

 

The Senior Hydrogen Product Engineer (SPE) is a multidisciplinary role, in an exciting new industry that seeks to bring zero emissions mobility to all sectors of global heavy- duty transportation. The SPE will be responsible for developing, differentiating and delivering new product offerings in heavy duty, marine, rail and off-road vehicle applications by either adapting commercially available technologies and products, or creating innovative new technologies to perform in fit-for-purpose systems. These new products will directly support developing business opportunities, making LIFTE H2 the partner of choice for integrating complex hydrogen technologies into integrated supply chains to service the hydrogen economy.

 

The SPE will be passionate and customer obsessed, with a blend of business, technical and project management skills who will work with third party equipment and technology providers, nationally recognized testing laboratories, codes and standards organizations and LIFTE’s cross-functional teams to help develop and deliver robust state of the art hydrogen solutions and supply chains. 

 

The SPE will be part of LIFTE’s Product Development Team and will report to the Head of Product Engineering.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • You will own the customer experience, business and technical requirements, technical delivery, performance metrics and roadmap for the system interfaces for the heavy-duty refueling system of systems (SoS).
  • You will manage external and internal product development relationships with suppliers, national labs, testing agencies, standard organizations and the LIFTE team to ensure delivery of a seamlessly integrated SoS.
  • You will utilize Systems Engineering principles and practices to ensure systems interfaces are defined and managed.
  • You will be passionate about delivering integrated products which are:

  • You will use analytics (both pre- and post-product release) to make data-driven product and system design decisions.
  • You MUST be passionate about managing equipment interfaces and possess a high level of attention to detail.
  • You will work closely with LIFTE's Digital Team to deliver digital capabilities across the LIFTE supply chain systems.

  

Additional Details

  • Domestic travel at 10% and occasional international travel required.
  • Position is based in Boston, Massachusetts or Berlin, Germany.
  • Combination of virtual and in office working (80/20).
  • US visa and green card sponsorship based on mutual agreement.

Requirements

What Experience & Education is Required?

  • For US: Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis. LIFTE H2 participates in e-Verify.
  • Masters in engineering, physics, or science with focus on one or more areas: thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, process control, electrical control systems, mechanical systems or machine design.
  • Education or experience in formal systems engineering.
  • An extensive background (8+ years) in product management and a record of successful product delivery.
  • Experience and knowledge with hydrogen systems and markets.
  • Experience working with next-gen collaboration tools are an asset (Asana, Pipedrive, Slite, Gsuite, Slack).
