About the Role

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role as a core member of the accounting team at Nuro. You will be responsible for managing monthly closing and reporting, providing accounting guidance to support business initiatives, work with cross-functional teams to establish internal controls, and engage in the enhancement of ERP including supply chain and manufacturing systems. Reporting to the Controller, you will be executing a wide range of projects for one of the leaders in robotics and autonomous space.

About the Work

  • Develop and manage an effective month-end closing process and procedures relating to Nuro’s monthly closing and reporting.
  • Be a trusted business partner and provide accounting guidance on revenue recognition, R&D activities and new product development trials and launches to ensure significant transactions are properly accounted for.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and associated footnotes disclosure. 
  • Perform financial statement analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations to assist management with business decisions.
  • Participate in assessing and documenting the accounting impact and required disclosures for significant events and transactions, including significant contracts for revenue and suppliers, contract manufacturers, and other matters.
  • Support accounting for the company lease portfolio, including expansions into new sites and the sublease of existing spaces.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, document desktop procedures, and processes to achieve efficiencies.
  • Serve as point of contact and liaison for audit or 409A requests.
  • Assist executive leadership teams with special projects, research and supplemental reporting.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or business.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant leadership work experience in public accounting and/or a high tech organization.
  • Excellent leadership skills with collaborative working style and ability to work cross functionally.
  • Ability to self-manage and execute in an unstructured environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and drive sound business decisions.
  • Proven track record of increased responsibilities and scope.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements.
  • Strong program management and organization skills with an ability to plan and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors.
  • Experience with ERP system preferred.


At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $114,00 and $171,000 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
